Heart - The Essential (2002)

The Essential Heart is a greatest hits compilation album released by the American rock band Heart in 2002, part of Sony BMG's The Essential series. The album was officially certified Gold by the RIAA on October 23, 2007. The collection spans the band's history from 1975 through 1995 and the package includes two compact discs. Mariah Carey - #1's (1998)

#1's is the eighth album by American pop/R&B singer Mariah Carey, released by Columbia Records on November 16, 1998. Carey's first compilation album, it comprises her first thirteen number-one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and several new tracks. It was certified five-times platinum in the U.S. after debuting within the top five on the Billboard 200, and it charted strongly elsewhere.

Carey has said that she does not consider #1's a greatest hits album, and has voiced her disappointment with the omission of what she calls her "favorite songs". Reviews were mixed, with criticism directed towards both the new material and the decision to include only Carey's number-one hits. The singles released from the album ? "Sweetheart" with Jermaine Dupri, the award-winning Whitney Houston duet "When You Believe" from the soundtrack to The Prince of Egypt, and "I Still Believe" ? sold well across the world, but they were only moderately popular on U.S. radio.

Diana Krall - The Very Best Of (2007)

The Very Best of Diana Krall encompasses the lush romanticism of "S'Wonderful," the playfully seductive humor of "Peel Me A Grape" and the yearning balladry of "I've Got You Under My Skin." Krall also demonstrates her versatility with musical settings that range from the playful swing of "Frim Fram Sauce" to the intimate bossa nova of "The Look of Love".

The collection also features three previously unreleased performances: a moody, evocatively orchestrated reading of the Frank Sinatra classic "Only the Lonely," a pensive reading of "You Go to My Head," a standard popularized by Sinatra and Billie Holiday, and an inventive reworking of Tom Waits' "The Heart of Saturday Night," the latter demonstrating Krall's ability to apply her interpretative abilities to contemporary material.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits (2003)

Greatest Hits encompasses material from their 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik up to 2002's By the Way. It was during this period of their career that the band became a major commercial force in the music industry. Therefore this compilation includes the majority of hit singles released since their breakthrough cover of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground.

Higher Ground itself, from 1989's Mother's Milk, is included on this compilation for contractual reasons. When the Red Hot Chili Peppers switched from EMI America to Warner Music, each record company agreed that one song from the contract was allowed to be included on the other company's catalogue.
